Botanical Ink, Softened by Paper
I wanted to create something that felt a little different from the usual desktop wallpaper. Something quiet and collected, with the softness of botanical ink that seems to gently bleed into the paper instead of sitting sharply on top of it.
That idea became Neutral Botanical Serenity—a collection built around delicate botanical details, warm neutral tones, softly textured backgrounds, and understated typography. The goal was an elegant, editorial feeling that would look beautiful on a desktop without competing with everything else happening on the screen.
And this collection is also the beginning of a little change here at Sunflowers & Lavender. Instead of creating a new wallpaper post every month, I'm going to be creating themed collections throughout the year. Some will be seasonal, some simply aesthetic, and some will probably be inspired by whatever design idea I can't stop thinking about.
For this first collection, I created four months for the remainder of 2026, followed by a full twelve-month set for 2027. So if you fall in love with the look, you can keep that same calm botanical feeling on your desktop well beyond a single season.

There is something about a beautiful desktop that makes an ordinary workday feel a little less ordinary. Maybe it's the morning coffee, the soft light coming through the window, or simply having something lovely to look at between tasks.
That's really what I wanted these wallpapers to be—a small, simple pleasure tucked into something you look at every day.
Meet Neutral Botanical Serenity
Neutral Botanical Serenity was created for those of us who like our desktops to feel calm, beautiful, and a little bit collected. The inspiration came from the look of botanical ink on textured paper—soft edges, imperfect details, and just enough movement to keep the design from feeling flat.
Rather than using bright colors or busy illustrations, I kept the palette intentionally quiet. Warm beige, muted taupe, soft brown, and natural botanical tones create a background that feels sophisticated without demanding attention.
The botanical artwork is intentionally delicate, with an almost hand-printed quality. I wanted the ink to feel as though it had gently settled into the paper rather than simply being placed on top of it. That subtle texture is what gives the collection its soft, editorial character.
