Layout Overview

This Family Command Center uses a two-column dashboard layout:

  • Left column: Weekly planning & meals
  • Right column: Priorities, kids activities, notes

Step 1: Create the Base Layout

  1. Open a blank Google Doc
  2. Insert → Table → 2 × 1
  3. Stretch the table to page width
  4. Right-click → Table properties

Settings:

  • Cell padding: 0.3 in
  • Border width: 0 pt

Step 2: Weekly Schedule Section

Inside the left column:

  1. Insert → Table → 2 x 7 (Mon–Sun)
  2. Insert title row
  3. Set borders to 0.5 pt or 0 pt
  4. Add light background to title row

Step 3: Meals at a Glance

Add a second table below the weekly schedule:

  • Insert → Table → 4 x 8
  • Label columns: 2-4 Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Keep colors neutral for print

  • Insert → Table → 1 x 4

  • Border: 0 pt
