Free Christmas Gift Tracker in Google Sheets | Holiday Budget Planner
Google Docs Magic · Holiday Collection
There's something special about finding just the right gift for someone you love. The fun is in the thought behind it—but keeping track of all those ideas, purchases, and holiday expenses? That's another story.
As the holidays draw closer, little lists have a way of multiplying. There's the gift you spotted weeks ago, the present you still need to wrap, and the question of how much you've actually spent. Before long, keeping everything straight can take up more time than the joyful part of giving.
This year, let's make that part a little easier.
I'm introducing the first free resource in Google Docs Magic: a Christmas Gift Tracker in Google Sheets designed to bring your gift ideas, shopping progress, and holiday budget together in one easy-to-use place.
It's simple to personalize, completely free, and ready for you to make your own copy. Consider it a little help for a calmer, more thoughtful holiday season.
Whether you're shopping for a handful of loved ones or keeping track of a much longer list, the goal is the same: spend less time juggling details and more time enjoying the season.

Get Your Free Christmas Gift TrackerA Closer Look Inside Your Gift Tracker
This isn't just a list of names and presents. The tracker includes four tabs that work together to help you plan, keep an eye on spending, and remember those small but important holiday details.
01. Start Here: Your Holiday Planning Guide
New to the tracker? The Start Here tab walks you through the basics, including how to set up your plan and use the different sections. You can begin with the essentials and fill in more details as your holiday shopping takes shape.
02. Holiday Spending Summary: See the Bigger Picture
It's easy for small purchases to add up during the holidays. The Holiday Spending Summary helps you keep an eye on your overall gift budget, estimated costs, actual spending, and what remains.
As you update your gift list, you can use the summary to get a clearer picture of where things stand—without having to add everything up yourself.
03. Gift Tracker: Keep Every Thoughtful Detail Together
This is where the planning comes together. Add each recipient and gift idea, note the category and priority, and record estimated and actual costs. You can also track whether an item has been purchased or wrapped, along with delivery status, store links, and helpful notes.
Dropdowns help keep your entries consistent, while status highlighting makes it easier to spot what's done and what still needs attention.
04. Lists: Keep Your Choices Consistent
The Lists tab supports the dropdown menus used throughout the tracker. The built-in choices help keep categories and shopping statuses organized, so your gift list and summary can work together smoothly.

A little tip for a calmer season
You don't have to fill everything in at once. Start with the people on your list and the gifts you already have in mind. A few minutes of updating your tracker after a shopping trip can make the next one feel much more manageable.
A Thoughtful Holiday, One List at a Time
The holidays don't have to be perfectly planned to be meaningful. Sometimes, a little organization is simply what gives us more room to enjoy the moments that matter: choosing something special for someone we love, wrapping gifts with care, and spending time together.
I hope this free Christmas Gift Tracker helps take a little of the guesswork out of your holiday shopping and gives you one less thing to keep track of in your head.
